That is. Stuff like that this time of year usually only happens in North Dakota.
I remember walking the kids down the street on Holloween in my long johns and a hot thermos of coffee/rum at around 0 degrees.

Indeed!
Seems we have each other's weather, woke up to 19 degrees and 6 inches of the powdery white stuff. The sun is really working hard on it, the roads are bare now and the rest of the snow is shrinking fast.................... one of the nice things about the ends of the season, nothing lasts too long. I'm afraid the worst is yet to come for both of us. But don't worry, we'll be looking at longer warmer days almost soon enough.

It's sunny, lovely and cool here. Leaves are at about 40% fallen. Wonder what it will be like next week when I return from the Bahamas?
For a Lepai soft start, use a 3 position switch.
1= OFF
2= Resistor inline
3= Full on
The resistor position lets chip power up enough to get the 5V portion going and the input caps charged. But it won't let the voltage go above 8V which is were the chip turns on fully. Caps are fully charged before the amp starts running. No thump.
